About
Standard Engineering is a licensed engineering firm based in Baton Rouge, LA. The company is licensed in multiple states in the USA. We utilize proper standards, including ASME, AISC, and API, to design equipment, then work with a partner to manufacture this heavy equipment. We work in the large frame industry, designing for loads up to 250+ tons. We provide specialty tool design, no matter the size, and we provide engineering services to improve existing equipment and identify failures and create solutions.

Services
Machine design
We design new machinery and modify designs of existing equipment. We also design retrofit attachments to existing equipment. See some examples.
finite element analysis
We perform finite element analysis on critical components and complex geometries. See some examples.
mechanical structures
We design structures that are used to move around heavy loads. See some examples.
research & development
We work with clients to develop technology, performing research, developing concepts, and documenting and reporting findings to our clients to help them achieve their innovation goals.

We are experienced in hydraulic design, working with the concepts of fluid force, and have the capability to design powerful hydraulic systems.
equipment specification
We specify equipment for our clients, whether it is independent equipment specifications or something that needs to be included in one of our larger designs of a total system.
3D Modeling
Three-dimensional modeling is critical in industry today, and we model every new concept that we are tasked with developing. We can use 3D modeling for something we design, and we can also provide 3D modeling to clients who have no means of producing their own models.
fabrication drawings
We provide manufacturing drawing packages for all equipment and machinery that we design, and we can also provide fabrication drawings for clients of equipment that we have not designed.
special case engineering analysis
Sometimes there are special cases where issues arise at a facility and solutions need to be found. Clients who require this type of engineering tend to know that an engineer is needed, even if they cannot perfectly specify what the issue is. We can have a discussion with you to see if you need an engineer, and if so, we can come up with a plan to determine the root of the problem and help you solve your problems, whether they are problems with production, safety, reliability, or something else.
