Millmaster Trailer
Standard Engineering designed a trailer that is used for transporting equipment and materials around steel mills. This trailer is capable of lifting up to 400,000 lbs and can also tilt for when it carries loose materials that need to be poured out. Trailer movement, hydraulic design, and structural design all played a part in developing this machine. Heavy focus was placed on machine geometry to ensure that all of the moving components interacted properly with one another.
Another part of this project was to design the quick-release hitch. The quick-release hitch was designed to allow the operator to quickly detach from the trailer in emergency situations that require the operator to be able to quickly drive away to safety.
